The goal is simple but important: create intentional space for emerging professionals to engage, learn and be part of the broader industry conversation.
Organizing the Young Leaders Under 30 programs for the International Production & Processing Expo’s (IPPE) is both a professional milestone and a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the long-term strength of the poultry and egg, meat and animal food industries. The goal is simple but important: create intentional space for emerging professionals to engage, learn and be part of the broader industry conversation.
As IPPE and the agricultural industry continue to evolve, so does its audience. Each year, more professionals under 30 attend, participate, and build careers across all sectors of poultry and egg, meat and animal food production. This growing presence signals an important shift (and an opportunity) for the industry to ensure these voices are not only welcomed but meaningfully engaged.
Experience matters, but so does perspective. The agricultural industry is built on decades of expertise, leadership and institutional knowledge. That foundation is critical to its success. At the same time, younger professionals bring fresh perspectives shaped by new technologies, evolving workforce dynamics and changing consumer expectations.
The most effective progress happens when experience and emerging perspectives work together. The Young Leaders Under 30 program was designed to encourage that exchange — connecting established leadership with the next generation in a way that supports continuity, innovation and long-term resilience.
One consistent theme among early-career professionals is a desire to be involved — not just as attendees but as contributors. Providing platforms for young professionals to share ideas, ask questions and build networks strengthens the entire industry.
This program was not about replacing voices or redefining leadership overnight. It was about expanding the conversation and recognizing that future-focused thinking often comes from those entering the industry during periods of rapid change.
Our industries face complex challenges ahead — from workforce development and sustainability to automation and global competitiveness. Addressing these challenges requires collaboration across generations, roles and perspectives.
The Young Leaders Under 30 program at IPPE 2026 demonstrated the value of investing in emerging talent and fostering dialogue that bridges experience with new ideas. When early-career professionals are encouraged to engage thoughtfully and learn from seasoned leaders, the result is a stronger, more adaptable industry.
The future of agricultural leadership is not a distant concept. It is actively taking shape today and it will be shaped by how well we invest in people today. Programs like Young Leaders Under 30 help ensure that the future is informed, prepared and connected. When emerging voices are intentionally heard and not overlooked or silenced, we create an industry that is stronger, more innovative and prepared for what’s ahead.
